I’m a graphic designer with a penchant for UX design and international travel.
My experience as an in-house and freelance graphic designer has helped me develop strong design skills, both in the sense of creating aesthetic compositions and communicating specific messages. I’ve also gained valuable knowledge about collaboration, self-direction, and personal project management. Through lifelong international travel and by building relationships with people from all walks of life, empathy and communication have become inherent parts of my personality.
During my career, I've become skilled at design and handoff of both print products and digital assets. I've had the opportunity to work on print projects for established brands such as Disney, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter; this type of work required me to merge brand guidelines with my own unique ideas to create products that both fit in and stood out. I've also had the joy of collaborating with team members to rebrand the Beloved Festival, and then designed website assets, social media graphics, online ads, and more using the updated branding.
In order to expand my skill set, I recently completed an online UX design course, and have found that it complements graphic design nicely! My experience in book design translates directly to UX, as both require the ability to create consistent designs across numerous pages in order for the overall product to be cohesive. Knowledge of layout and vector illustration also acts as a foundation for UI design. Additionally, both roles necessitate a deep understanding of the target audience.
Designing products that have a tangible positive impact on society, wildlife, or the environment is deeply important to me. Continuing to learn and grow as a designer and human being is also an essential key to my personal fulfillment. And developing meaningful relationships with users and peers keeps me shiny and bright! I’m looking for opportunities that address these needs while allowing me to offer up my own unique set of skills to the team.
When I’m not designing, my time is filled with outdoor adventures in the Columbia River Gorge, lots of books, attempting to speak French with my Parisian husband, yoga, and finding ways to make my son laugh.
